The preseason version of the Associated Press Poll has been released. USC tops the standings with 25 first place votes, Alabama garnered 17, LSU had 16, and Oklahoma had 1 first place vote.

As in the USA Today Poll, the SEC has five teams in the top ten. Also, note Ohio State’s presence in this poll. The Buckeyes are ineligible to participate in the USA Today Poll because of their current postseason ban.
