College football week 2 preview: Miami takes down Florida and South Carolina keeps on rolling

As we look toward week two, there aren’t a ton of matchups that jump off of the page. There are several, but not many. That means one of two things: It will be a very boring weekend, or it will be one of those crazy weekends full of the kinds of upsets that have made college football so entertaining over the past couple of years. I think the SEC and the Pac 12 will be the two top conferences in 2013. Regardless of whether my BCS Championship becomes reality, I think the SEC will have a team in the game, giving itself a chance to win an eighth-straight championship.

2013 Big 12 preview: Texas returns to prominence and captures the league title

The Big 12 has a number of teams who are BCS-caliber programs, but the round-robin nine-game league schedule could cause some of the top teams to beat each other, eliminating them national title contention. The usual suspects, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and West Virginia will all be contenders for the league title.

2013 Big Ten preview: Ohio State and Nebraska lead the way

Ohio State will be eligible to participate in postseason action this year, after going undefeated last season and sitting out Big Ten Championship and bowl season. Other Big Ten teams will be gunning for the Buckeyes as they are the clear favorite to win the league. I think Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Indiana (yes, Indiana) will also be contenders.
